What if you approached marriage this way?

This evening I hung out in my son's room for a little bit. I had my Saturday Facetime with Michael to discuss the flow for church tomorrow.

I'm headed to bed here shortly so I can make sure I beat Cody to church in the morning.

At the moment, I'm sort of laying on my daughter's feet. Looking over at my wife periodically. She is on the other couch.

I'm a big fan of marriage. There is nothing greater than seeing a healthy marriage at work. It's a beautiful thing.

I asked myself this question tonight.

What if I approached my marriage with:

  • Joy
  • Love
  • Peace
  • Forbearance
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • And Self-Control

That would make for a "bomb" marriage.

Take a look at those words. Now evaluate your marriage.

Would these be the words people would use to describe your marriage? If you're like me, you want to hope so.

This can't happen though without the help of Christ because these things listed are the by-product of Christ being in control of your life.

These aren't the typical fruits that people produce in their lives.

And not only will these things make for a great marriage but a great life.

I hope you have surrendered to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
