  1. Greeters are generally passionate about all people. You never know who is coming to the event or to the store. You want someone who wants to be inviting to all people.

  2. Greeters have to be a focused. I get so bummed when someone sneaks up on me because I have gotten distracted.

  3. Greeters have to do prep work. You need to know as much as you can about the event or the store or the wedding or the party. You want to be prepared for whatever question that comes your way.

  4. Greeters need to be well rested so you can give all the energy you can to people as they come in. This doesn't mean be over the top. Good energy doesn't mean being loud.

  5. Greeters have to be okay with people not wanting you to acknowledge them. Some people just don't want anyone to see them. This is hard to judge at times. I try to work really hard at getting a feel for people as they walk towards the door to know how to greet them.
